  1. Minimize and streamline your various inboxes.
  2. As soon as possible when things come into your inboxes, process and categorize them.  
  3. Carry out quick actions, tasks, or projects immediately.
  4. Position what’s used most often in closer proximity.
    1. Position Hot Projects closest for daily use.
    2. Position Warm Projects further away.
    3. Position Cold Projects out of the way. 
  5. Have your most frequently used office materials at hand.
  6. Try to look ahead – be proactive versus reactive.
  7. Continually “take the trash out” – remove what doesn’t belong.
  8. Simplify, get clear, and then act with a balanced approach. 
  9. Highlight priorities and move forward with them – once you are clear.
  10. Put aside what isn’t a priority and act on it/them later.  
  11. Pay attention to your energy and – to the extent that you have the flexibility – carry out tasks that are compatible with its current strength and level.
